If I am convicted of DUI, will I be able to drive?

Georgia Driving Consequences for a DUI

For a first DUI conviction within five years in the state of Georgia, you should be eligible for a limited driving permit. If it is a second DUI conviction within five years, you will not be able to drive for 120 days or more. After the 120-day license suspension, you may become eligible for an ignition interlock permit. This permit only allows very limitedly driving for twelve months. If you are facing a third DUI conviction within five years, you can expect to lose your driving privileges for five years. After two years, you may be eligible for a probationary license. This is similar to a limited permit. All of the above assumes that you have not been administratively suspended for refusing the state-administered testing of your blood alcohol level. If you have been charged with DUI-DWI, call today to speak to a knowledgeable DUI defense lawyer in your area.
